Once you achieve good ranking in the search engines, you will continue to get free traffic, as long as you can keep that ranking.

Facebook ads are a very fast method to get highly targeted traffic. Unlike any other method, Facebook allows you to target specific demographics. You can select age, sex, location, interests and more when preparing a Facebook ad. These ads will be only displayed to Facebook users with this data entered in their Facebook profile. More targeted ads not only mean more conversions or sales, they are also much cheaper. If your ads are very targeted, there will be less competition bidding on similar ads.

Another method for getting the traffic, you will want to consider, is called SEM or search engine marketing. SEM refers to paid traffic from the search engines. The most common method is Google AdWords ads. Google AdWords are the advertisements you see on top and right side of the search results in Google. The advertiser pays for every click on these ads.

There is a very good reason why your internet marketing campaign should start with SEO before, you start with SEM – if your page has good ranking in Google, the price per click will be much lower. We have seen it all with SEO and the truth is scary. There are big SEO companies all over like a plague and many are fly by night operations with little or no real world SEO experience. There is also an abundance of inexperienced individual scammers out there that have no real world SEO experience or knowledge in SEO but they have fooled many people and businesses that don’t know any better.

We have had businesses come to us, after being ripped off by so called SEO experts, seeking help.

One example is a new client that hired us and contacted us on a 3 way phone call so we could listen to what the BIG SEO company was offering to do. The SEO firm promised to make my client #1 on organic Google searches and stated they have special and secret relationship with Google. Ok this sounds amazing but the fact of the matter is THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE and this SEO firm tried to rip another company off.

To make things more interesting I called the SEO firm on my own and spoke to the same salesman I spoke to earlier via a 3 way phone call and picked his brain to see where the conversation would go. This so called Web Master told me each SEO expert they employ is responsible for managing the SEO for over 100 client websites because they are so awesome!

I also asked them about Google AdWords which is something I also have extensive knowledge and experience with. I wanted to know how much do they charge to manage a small & simple Google AdWords accountant and they told me they charge per click instead of a flat rate to just manage the online marketing campaign. Not that I would ever consider outsourcing anything to them or anybody else, I was curious. I know and believe in the old saying if you want something done right do it yourself but that’s not so easy in these types of situations for people with no background or understanding of how SEO and the internet work.

Ok that’s just another way they choose to bill for a specific service and there is nothing wrong with that but when I asked how much do they charge for every click and they said $50. I researched the specific key words involved and Google wasn’t charging more than $5, yes five bucks, for the specific keywords we talked about.

Talk about serious price gouging! And what is really sad, is many businesses fall for these types of scams because they don’t know any better or don’t know who to turn to for quality and sound advice.

Not only did this SEO firm promise things that are impossible to guarantee, they demonstrated they are not capable of delivering the one on one attention to detail that is necessary to deliver quality SEO services, and their prices for shoddy work is way over priced. Now I am not saying good SEO comes cheap, because good SEO is very time consuming and requireds a lot of hard work, dedication, knowledge and, most importantly, real world SEO experience.

So how do you find a good SEO consultant anyways?

That’s a tough question to answer because good SEO consultants are usually very busy catering to their clients and know firsthand that good SEO requires paying serious attention to detail, and managing the SEO for 100 websites is a bad idea for just one seo consultant.

PICK UP THE PHONE and call him or her.

The first thing you should be asking for is to meet the SEO consultant in person – face to face for a consultation. If they are not willing to meet you in person then STOP and keep looking.

What if the SEO consultant is not near you, IE another state?

Now things are different and meeting them in person is not so reasonable, but that’s ok.

You can have a phone consultation and ask important questions.

Not every SEO consultant will meet you in person for free, and there may be good reason for this. They are very talented individuals and their time is very valuable and most don’t want to deal with tire kickers – you know, the potential clients that ask endless questions seeking free advice, then never spend a dime.

After you get that out of the way, ask to see some websites that the SEO consultant is responsible for. Ask to see natural – organic searches that bring up the websites. If the SEO guru can show you this and demonstrate their talent then you are on the right track to SEO success.

Other questions to ask are how much do they charge? And what will they do for X amount of dollars? If the SEO consultant tells you they have special connections with Google or they own thousands of websites that can drive traffic to your website then WALK AWAY NOW!

Other things to verify which you can do yourself are.

Is the SEO consultant a real business?

How long have they been in business?

Do they have any professional references?

Do they have their phone number on their own website? Or do they only communicate via email?

MOST IMPORTANTLY, are they located within the United States?

NEVER EVER under any circumstances hire a SEO consultant that does not reside in the United States for obvious reasons. Lack of communication skills, lack of legal – laws to protect you as a consumer, lack of quality support. Nothing is worse than being transferred to India when you need help fast.

At the lease try to use common sense when in doubt and understand good SEO isn’t cheap.

The old catch phrase I live by is cheap is not good and good is not cheap.

This doesn’t mean just because the SEO consultant isn’t cheap that he or she is good.

Now before you sign any contract or agree to a deal, find and pay a good business lawyer to review the contract to make sure you completely understand what the contract states and ask the business lawyer to clarify anything you may not understand. Spending a few hundred dollars to have a business lawyer review and edit the contract if necessary may save you thousands of dollars and prevent you from signing a bad contract.

In conclusion you now know what to look for, what to ask and how to weed out the SEO scammers that are out there.

Well, I’ve compiled a list of things that every webmaster / site owner or the Internet enthusiast could in some cases, they must do to ensure that a site is indexed in less than a day or two.

10 Steps to index your website in one day ….

1. Create at least 3 to 7 pages of content.

Hey, a “soon” or “Under Construction” page with a kind of animated gif construction worker was great in the 90s, but today will not get very far … Create a few pages of decent content, readable useful – remember in text format images can not be traced! Make sure you do everything right SEO Basics:

• Each page should have title page only
• Each page must have a unique meta description and keywords tags
• All links / href must have a “title” property and the images should be descriptive “Alt” properties
• Avoid carrying a “message” or a redirect to your homepage

2. Create a template / menu structure

Make sure every page has links to other, using a menu structure. Ideally, the link text / href should be based and descriptive, so that they can be easily traced.

3. Make sure the correct format HTML pages

Go totalvalidator.com or use the W3C validator – validator.w3.org to ensure that your pages are well formed. Search engines will give a lower rank, or even know if your pages are so poorly written and does not include enough information. It is also recommended to make sure your site is cross browser compatible, using a tool such as multi-browser viewer, or similar.

4. Creating a Sitemap.

Sitemaps have evolved over the years and there are several ways (HTML, RSS, sitemaps and graph). Google and other major search engines have adopted a common pattern, however, that lists all the pages on your site and help identify the most important pages. There are very few generators free site out there. For smaller sites, I recommend this: XML-sitemaps.com

5. Creating a Webmaster Tools account and send / Ping Sitemap.

After you create your site and click the site map at the root of your site, you must submit the sitemap to different search engines. We recommend creating an account on several webmaster tools search engines:

* Google (www.google.com / webmasters / tools): Google has a very useful service for Webmaster Tools, which lets you see information that is useful for all webmasters. Google is essentially the place.
* Bing (www.bing.com / webmasters): Bing webmaster tools AHS also improved dramatically in the last year or so, but not as useful as Google does.
* Yahoo (siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com): Much less useful than Bing, but is still necessary for now.

Once you have entered Webmaster tools can resubmit several table updates or update your site to search engines any time but should be tracked and updated automatically. Search Sitemap Ping / Submit URL:

* Google: wwwgoogle.com / webmasters / sitemaps / ping? Site Map = [map of the full address]
* Yahoo: search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/ping? Sitemap = [site address in full]
* Ask: submissions.ask.com / ping? Sitemap = [your sitemap web address]
* MSN Live: webmaster.live.com / webmaster / siteMap ping.aspx? = [Your website address]

Note: Google requires that you submit your Sitemap to them through the first Webmaster Tools interface. Only then can ping using the address above. Ping Yahoo and Ask.com to serve as a good presentation.

6. High traffic link bookmarking sites

These are the sites are visited regularly by search engine crawlers so if there is a link to your site will be indexed quickly. You must create an account with these sites, to allow the link to your site. Some of the bookmarking sites you can use include Del.icio.us, Blinklist, StumbleUpon.com and digg.com. Social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace will also help. Try to connect using some of the popular phrases, such as the list at the bottom of the page updates itself. At the end of the day is to get high quality links to your site.

6. Create or comment on a blog.

Create a blog at blogger.com or another supplier of blogs (blogs there are many different options these days) and start blogging about your area of expertise and how it relates to your site. Feel free to plug your web site contributes to an open debate and not just a fake blog marketing scheme. The alternative is to talk about your site in a comment on a blog connected to someone, but again, should be as part of a debate in which to make a contribution to that person’s blog!

7. Comment on a popular forum / help pages.

Be sure to include the URL of the site as part of the profile of the forum and comment on a forum where you belong, or help a beginner to an issue that you are an expert at a forum on the topic and help site . Karma This is too good!

8. Install and activate Google Analytics

Google Analytics is probably one of the best gifts for any webmaster. Sign up for Google Analytics in free wwwgoogle.com / analytics. You have to add a simple script to every HTML page to make sure it is followed properly, but the information will be out, is very useful and will help improve and better target throughout its pages long.

9. Using Google AdSense

If it makes sense for your site, consider the execution of advertising by Google on your site. Although it is assumed that the AdSense and AdWords to be indexed separately indexed in Google search, there is some evidence to the contrary, and in some places that serve AdSense ads faster rate than other sites which serve no advertising AdSense. Hey, you can even earn some money, may be worth a shot, right?

10. Google AdWords

Again very similar to section 9, there is no real evidence that advertising your web domain with Google AdWords really benefit, but if you want to cover all bases and indexing as soon as possible, worth a try … AdWords least allows you to drive targeted traffic to your site in minutes. Use Google Analytics, you can also track conversions and start measuring the ROI.

If you follow these 10 steps to your site should be crawled by Google, Yahoo and Bing quickly, obviously, can not guarantee your site is indexed in one day … but make up 10 steps go a long way to ensure it is indexed and crawled faster. Remember that the above can ensure you get indexed and included in the search engines quickly, but only a regularly updated site with high quality, useful content and ensures the high rankings on different search engines.

This is the most important word you should know and remember. Google is currently the number one search engine. You can use it to find answers to your questions or to drive traffic to your websites. Google also offers many free services useful for internet marketing.

Google Webmaster Tools
This is a place where you can track crawling and indexing of your websites. You can submit sitemaps, check top search queries, examine internal and external links, crawling statistics and you can also set up basic settings of the site like geographic target, preferred domain and crawl rate.

Google Analytics
This is another free tool for internet marketers. With few lines of JavaScript code added to the website you can track visitors and pages they visit. Analyzing the data you can see on what page visitors have landed, where they left the site, where they come from, and many other parameters needed to optimize the site.

Google AdWords
This is a pay-per-click program for advertisers. You target specific keywords and the ads will be displayed along search results or on content pages as AdSense ads. You have total control how much money you will spend, where the ads will be displayed, how will they appear, etc.
