How to Put an image in your sidebar of WordPress

Putting an image in a post is already covered here.
To put an image in a sidebar, upload the image using the steps from the above link to uploading images. Then find its location and add it to a text widget.
Remember that if the image is too big your sidebar will break or look wrong.
Once uploaded you’ll see the link url of the image.
Copy the URL.
Now go to Appearance -> Widgets and add a Text Widget.
The URL goes into the widget like this:
<img src="http://faq.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/01-001.gif">
Click “Change” and “Save Your Changes”. You can have many images in one widget.
