How to Increase Adsense Revenue

1. Primacy
Primacy is defined as the state of being first, or foremost.  People in general have a short attention span, but it gets even shorter when on the web.  It is important to have your Adsense banner near the top of the page.  If they have to scroll to see it, there is a good chance they will move on before even noticing the banner.  This can be hard to do and keep your website looking professional, but it is possible.  You may have to forgo this step on some of your pages to keep the integrity of your site.

2. Blending
You should take your time and develop an Adsense banner that will blend into your website.  People are more apt to click on an advertisement if they don’t know it’s an ad.  If they are interested in the ad, they will click on the link provided without thinking twice.  This is also a good way to prevent your website from looking tacky.  Garishly colored advertisements are highly noticeable and will increase the bounce rate on your site.  It can ruin the look of your site and is an insult to the eyes.

I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. This makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my AdSense code to include files. If I want / need to change my AdSense code, only one file I have to work. TIP: I also use to turn the AdSense program on or off. I change a global variable to true or false and my adsense ads appear or disappear.

Management and URL channels

Adsense channels is an area where it is very easy to go overboard with stats. You can create URL channels to compare how is one place to another. You can also create sub-channels for each URL. If you wanted to do something channels like this:

Of the sites I run, I do very well with the box of 336 and 160 skyscraper. My next best ad size is 728 performance rankings, I really do not use the 300 inline rectangle too often. So it really depends on how well they are integrated into your site. Placement can have a dramatic effect on performance. TIP: When working on a new or redesigned site you might want to give each place its own channel for a time until you understand the user behavior.

Another trick that can increase your CTR is the mixture of AdSense on your body copy. For example, if your body copy is black, remove the border from AdSense and make the title text and URL black.TIP: Try to change all the page links to high-contrast color (like dark red or bold blue) then change the title of AdSense for the same color.

The only area I found mixing ads do not perform well is forums, especially those with a high volume of repeat members. Regular visitors develop banner blindness very rapidly. One trick to keep ads from being ignored is a random color and even the placement. As with any decision on the location, placement and color is a trade-off. How much emphasis on the ads without annoying your visitors. Remember that it is better to have a 1% CTR with 500 regular visitors compared with a CTR of 5% to 50 visitors. TIP: For forums try placing the AdSense ads directly above or below the discussion forum first.

Using pictures

One of the latest “secrets” to make the rounds is using images placed directly above or below a header AdSense. This has been used for a while, but it was a digital point forum thread where a member talked about quadrupling their CTR. Basically, it created the AdSense code in a table with four images that line up directly with it. If this is distorted and misleading is very subjective. Multiple ad units

Another way to increase advertising revenue is to use multiple ad. According to Google’s terms of service, is allowed to place up to three ad units per page. Similar to the search for higher performance standard ad unit, the payment is served first and the lowest is served last. If there is enough ad inventory, place all three ad units. However, you should pay attention to payments. Assumption is that you get 60% of revenue ($ 0.05 a click you make $ 0.03). So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 and 5 cents you may want to omit from your page. This is one where units are giving your channel list worthless. If an ad is to get a higher percentage of click throughs you want to ensure that the best performing ads are being treated there. Adsense in RSS

However, if your website depends on generating adsense revenue to survive, and then take them to the site and show ads there.

Affiliate Sites
