Many people build a website or blog with dreams of creating huge amounts of Adsense revenue. These dreams generally finish after months of frantically driving visitors to their sites through marketing campaigns, only failing to convert visits into clicks.

This failure leads to frustration, and ultimately quitting. There is no need to quit. What you need to focus on is how to build your Adsense banners to compliment your blog instead of insulting it. There are some simple ways to increase the amount Adsense revenue you generate.

How to Increase Adsense Revenue

1. Primacy
Primacy is defined as the state of being first, or foremost. People in general have a short attention span, but it gets even shorter when on the web. It is important to have your Adsense banner near the top of the page. If they have to scroll to see it, there is a good chance they will move on before even noticing the banner. This can be hard to do and keep your website looking professional, but it is possible. You may have to forgo this step on some of your pages to keep the integrity of your site.

2. Blending
You should take your time and develop an Adsense banner that will blend into your website. People are more apt to click on an advertisement if they don’t know it’s an ad. If they are interested in the ad, they will click on the link provided without thinking twice. This is also a good way to prevent your website from looking tacky. Garishly colored advertisements are highly noticeable and will increase the bounce rate on your site. It can ruin the look of your site and is an insult to the eyes.

3. Utilize Your Content
If you are able to wrap your content around the advertisements, it will greatly help to increase adsense revenue. The advertisements will look like part of your text. This will make it much more natural for readers to click on an ad. They are already interested in what you have to say, and now they are being given an option to continue on that topic. Increasing Adsense revenue is about providing your readers with good content, and a way to continue exploring that content.

4. Write Keyword Focused Content
The Google Adsense program runs off on content. If you are unable to write specific enough content for Google to know what you are talking about, the ads may be untargeted. This is because Google has to guess. Keywords aren’t just for driving organic traffic, they are essential to obtaining relevant advertisements on your site. Without relevance, your ads will lose meaning.

5. Create Multiple Banners
Different types of people will click on different types of ads. One of the best ways to cater to everyone is to create banners with different styles. You can experiment with each one and see which converts best. There is nothing wrong with a little trial and error.

6. Make Use of Google Adsense Channels
It is important to know which pages are converting and which ones aren’t. Google allows you to create up to 200 channels. Why not utilize them all. This way you can narrow down on your non-earning channels and optimize them through trial and error. Use what Google has to offer. They provide these tools because they want you to succeed. If you are making money, so are they.

7. Traffic
Finally, and obviously, you need to increase traffic. The more traffic you have, the more Adsense revenue you will create. It is as simple as that. Unfortunately gaining that extra traffic is not so simple, but that is a topic for another post.

Increasing Adsense revenue is about perseverance and hard work. You will need to put in the time and effort to try multiple different approaches before you can rest. Learn from others. If you are a fan of a successful blog, see how they did it. Where do they put their banners? Emulate them because they are successful.

To effectively sell products or services over the internet you need right tools. It is not enough to set up a website and wait for visitors. And even setting up websites needs some tools and knowledge. In order to succeed you need to know and preferably master few basic and elementary tools.

Google
This is the most important word you should know and remember. Google is currently the number one search engine. You can use it to find answers to your questions or to drive traffic to your websites. Google also offers many free services useful for internet marketing.

Google Webmaster Tools
This is a place where you can track crawling and indexing of your websites. You can submit sitemaps, check top search queries, examine internal and external links, crawling statistics and you can also set up basic settings of the site like geographic target, preferred domain and crawl rate.

Google Analytics
This is another free tool for internet marketers. With few lines of JavaScript code added to the website you can track visitors and pages they visit. Analyzing the data you can see on what page visitors have landed, where they left the site, where they come from, and many other parameters needed to optimize the site.

Google AdWords
This is a pay-per-click program for advertisers. You target specific keywords and the ads will be displayed along search results or on content pages as AdSense ads. You have total control how much money you will spend, where the ads will be displayed, how will they appear, etc.

Google AdSense
This is a pay-per-click program for publishers. If you run a website you can display text and image ads relevant to the content on the page. AdSense is the most popular PPC program for publishers. You can see AdSense ads almost on every website.

Google Alerts
This is a very useful tool which can alert you whenever new pages that match your keywords are indexed. You simply set up target keywords the same way as you do when you search with Google and as soon as Google finds a new page with your keywords you get email notification.

Other Free Resources
There are many free resources on the web which can be used for internet marketing. Free blogs, Web 2.0 sites, and forums can help you to promote your websites.

Web Hosting
You need web hosting to serve web pages to the world. Every serious internet marketer selects one of the respectable and trusted hosting companies.

Keyword Research
This should be the first phase of every online project. There are many tools that specialize in finding those profitable keywords like Micro Niche Finder, Market Samurai as well as other free tools on the web.

WordPress
This is a free content management system commonly used for blogs. It is probably the most widely used CMS for internet marketing.

Joomla
This is another free content management system. It is more universal then WordPress and suitable for any kind of website. If blogging is not on your mind and you need to set up a website as quickly as possible then Joomla might be the solution.

Affiliate Programs
Affiliate Programs are the streams of income for many online marketers. You promote products or services and you get paid whenever you make a sale. Commissions vary from only few percent up to 75% for digital goods.

Putting advertisements in your website is one of the most common blog monetization techniques. Advertisements that are relevant to site content prompt the reader to take action in order to find out more about what you are promoting. Each click through blog advertisement brings revenue. At times, just a visit to the page where the ad is placed gives revenue.

Every site owner wants to get the maximum returns from blog ads. How is this possible? What determines the revenue… ad popularity or site traffic. If you want to earn serious blog money through your ads, you must not just put popular ads, you also need to have the kind of traffic that it takes to generate the money you expect from your blog.

Now the question is timing. When should you really put ads on your blog? Do you put ads right from the beginning or do you put ads when you get a certain level of traffic. Just how much of traffic must you gain before you begin to put your ads? This is something that every site owner or blogger must consider because the level of traffic determines the possibilities of people clicking at the ads posted in the website.

Let’s first take a look at what happens when you put ads in your blog or website, right from the beginning. If you choose to put ads just as you launch your website, you would be getting hardly any earning through the ads. Maybe a dollar a day and this can be an amount at the end of the year.

However, if you put in the blog ads at a later time, when your blog is receiving significant traffic and even comments from visitors, your ads will be clicked more often and this means higher revenue. It’s basically the kind of strategy that you seek to adopt. There are ads that you can put that earn you money, even if a visitor does not click them. This means just site traffic will gain you money from them.

The ideal situation would be to put in ads when your site traffic is growing. Put something small, at first, then wait to see the kind of money that you make from it and as your site traffic enhances, you can put in some more. People visiting your site will get used to the ads and when they find it relevant to what they are looking, they are most likely to click it. Compelling content is the key to get the right level of traffic and this in turn reflects on the kind of blog money

Everyone has a desire to earn money and one of the most popular ways to earn money is to earn it online. There are a lot of different means to earn money online. People are making money using blogs, affiliate marketing, posting reviews, writing articles, uploading files, etc. More and more internet users just want to earn as much money as possible in the least possible time.

There are many people who have not even heard that they can earn money online. All they know is about the money making surveys and shopping. There are many fatal mistakes that people make when they try to make money online. Most of these happen in their impatience to make money online fast. Some of the common mistakes made when making money online are:

Online money is fast money, but it is very risky as well. There is no guarantee of continuous flow of money. If you are earning money today, you may not earn it tomorrow. People often leave their full time career and start making efforts for earning online. Many of them end up nowhere and regret for the whole life. My advice is that only become a full-time after you have enough confidence on your blogs and yourself to sustain the income.

There are many websites which are spam and illegal. They just want the user to share their personal credit card details and such. But many are so desperate to make money online that they fall easy prey to make money online scams. Many newbie who try to make money online become tricked by internet scams.

They make so much of efforts in searching different websites to earn online money that they do not find themselves to concentrate on their work. This makes a person suffer in the long run as they end up searching for ways to make money online but hardly ever implement them.

Therefore, the important thing while making money online is that you should not be very greedy. Also you should be intelligent to recognize ways to make money in a legal manner without getting scammed. Most of the mistakes happen because of not thinking correctly and due to the laziness to do hard work. If you plan to make money online, then be prepared to work hard.

Are you aware of some mistakes that we make while trying making money online, please share in the comments section

• Blog network writing gigs
•  Business blog writing gigs
• Non blogging writing gigs
•  Donations
• Flipping blogs
• Merchandising
• Consulting and  speaking

The following are a few things that you need to consider if you want to be successful in problogging:

1. Be patient.Problogging requires a lot of time and effort, not to mention a long-term vision.
2. Know your audience.Targeting a specific audience or group is a key to building a readership.
3. Be an ‘expert’. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the “go-to” blogger on that topic.
4. Diversify. Experiment with various add and affiliate programs that enable you to make money online (aside from blogging).
5. Do not bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line spacings, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read.

Certainly, it is possible to earn money from blogs. One just needs to take risks, the passion, and the right attitude in order to be a successful problogger.

Getting started with videoblogging

Videoblogging is the next generation of posting ideas and products over the internet. Everybody knows about textblogging. Now they use videos for a better way of expression. This form of communication may entail a lot of resources, but it is all worth it. If pictures say a thousand words, videoblogging exceeds that by far.A videoblog requires larger disk spaces on websites, a faster server, and a whole new set of programs to support it. Videoblogs can be fed through RSS. This is technology of syndicating your website to other RSS aggregators.

Videoblogging works with people on the internet expressing their selves. Now if you put this on a business prospective, you are up to a lot of benefits. Think of it as a powerful tool in making showing your prospective customers your line of products or your services. It’s just like showing a commercial all for free.And if you videoblog through RSS, then most probably you are getting your target market.

People like to see what they are going to buy. Some would like to see proof and be sure that they are getting their money’s worth before shelving their dimes on it. All of us know the influence of a thirty second commercial. The effect of videoblogging is similar to that. You show your product, people watch it. If they like it, they buy it. If you present it good enough, they’ll buy the product even if they don’t need it.Now on the web, things are pretty much static, unlike in television in which all are moving.If you post something that is mobile, it would most likely catch attention. Now imaging your product parading in all it’s royalty through videoblog. You’ll get phone call orders in no time.

If your business is just starting up, you can create a videoblog right at your own home. All you need is your web camera, microphone, video software, and lights. For as long as you know how to use your camera, then you can create a videoblog.Invest in a good web camera.The higher its resolution is the better the output. And you like to present your goods in the optimum way so get the best one possible.Make a short story,or just capture your goods in one go. Just make sure you are getting the best profile for each. Get those creativity juices flowing.

Lights are important in a production. Make sure you illuminate entirely the area you are going to use to create videoblog.The brighter the area, the crispier the images will be. You can also use lighting effects for added appeal to the presentation.Should you require sounds for your videoblog, you need a microphone.Record you voice as a voice over for promoting the product and its benefit to consumers.Sounds are as important as videos on a videoblog. It is advisable to make your sound effects as enticing as the video.

Your video editing software can be any program. You need this to finalize your work. You can add sounds, delete some bad angles, or insert some still pictures in there too. Some programs are user-friendly and can be used even with zero knowledge on video editing. Even simple video editing programs should do the trick. Select your background carefully too. The light affects the presentation so make sure that the background and the light complements each other.Videoblogging is a great tool but it also has it downside. It may slow down the computer so other may steer clear of it.Download time may also be time consuming especially if customer is still on a dial- up connection.But don’t let those stop you.Let videoblogging be an alternative for you,though it is best to still keep the text and pictures present in your presentation to accommodate all possible viewers of your site.

Nowadays, the more creative you are in presenting your product to the market, they more you are likely to succeed.Videoblogging offers an interactive way of selling. You involve the customers. You instill in them the advantage of your goods.And at times,those are enough to make a sale

I’ve been reading some forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I’ve also thrown in some tips of my own. We start with some basic general and move to the more specific issues in the future.

Build an empire?

When you decide to become a website publisher is divided into two general categories:

* Published 100 websites that each earn $ 1 a day profit
* Publish 1 website that earns $ 100 a day profit The reality is that most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having a website leaves open to all types of fluctuations (algorithm of search engines, market trends, etc.). You can change your plan along the way, but you will have an easier time if you start to go in the direction of where it wants to end.

General or niche

You can build your website around general topics or niches. In general, niche websites work better with AdSense speech. First, the ad targeting is much better. Second has a narrow focus your writing naturally becomes more expert in nature. Hope this makes it more authority in his field.

If this is your first attempt to build an AdSense website do so on something you enjoy. This will make the process much easier and less painful to accomplish. You must, however, make sure the topic has enough of an inventory of ads and pay is at a level you feel comfortable. You may love medieval folk, but the group of advertisers for that matter is very small (in fact, is now zero).

Once they began to fall as the works of AdSense on a site, who wants to engage with some high paying keywords, you may even be tempted to buy a list of keywords are well paid. This comes with some dangers. First, the level of fraud is much greater in a lot of money. Secondly, there is a distortion of the relationship between supply and demand of these terms. Everyone wants ads on their website that make $ 35 or more in one click, however, the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that amount is quite limited. Moreover, competition for that traffic is going to be tough. So do not try to run with the big dogs if you can not keep up. If you have to wonder if you’re a big dog, then chances are, you’re not.

New sites, archives and Maintenance

When you are building a new site not put AdSense on it until it is completed. In fact, I would go even further and say that not put AdSense on it until you have built inbound links and started getting traffic. If you create a site with “Lorem ipsum” dummy or placeholder text, AdSense ads will almost certainly be off topic. This happens often for new files on existing sites, especially if the topic is new or different. It may take days or weeks for Google media bot to return to the page and receive targeted ads correctly. TIP: If you start getting a lot of traffic from a variety of IP’s that will accelerate this process dramatically.

I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. This makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my AdSense code to include files. If I want / need to change my AdSense code, only one file I have to work. TIP: I also use to turn the AdSense program on or off. I change a global variable to true or false and my adsense ads appear or disappear.

Management and URL channels

Adsense channels is an area where it is very easy to go overboard with stats. You can create URL channels to compare how is one place to another. You can also create sub-channels for each URL. If you wanted to do something channels like this:

* Domain1.com – 728 banner
* Domain1.com – 336 blocks
* Domain1.com – text links
* Domain2.com – 728 banner
* Domain2.com – banner image
* Domain2.com – 336 blocks
* Domain3.com – 300 blocks

While this is ideal for testing and knowing who clicks where and why, makes your reporting a little inconsistent. Their total number will always be right, but when you look at their reports with a channel break down things will be displayed several times and not add to total correction. It makes things very confusing, so decide if you really need / want that level of detail of reports. TIP: As a minimum, you want to know the URL is income generation so be sure to enter distinct URL channels.

Site Design and Integration

Once you know you’re going to put AdSense on your site where you have to think where to put it. If this site is new, it’s easier, is an existing site is more difficult. Although there are some people who will be able to do so in most cases I would say that if you just slap the AdSense code may end up with a monster frankensite (Tedster of WMW support for the buzzword). Although each site is different, Google has published some heat maps showing the location ideal heat. Not surprisingly, the best spots are middle of the page and left. Now I have done very well, putting well, but you should know why they’re doing before hand and be prepared to change if it breaks.

Google also published a list of ad sizes faster performance

* 336 × 280 Large Rectangle
* Rectangle 300 × 250 online
* Wide Skyscraper 160 × 600

Of the sites I run, I do very well with the box of 336 and 160 skyscraper. My next best ad size is 728 performance rankings, I really do not use the 300 inline rectangle too often. So it really depends on how well they are integrated into your site. Placement can have a dramatic effect on performance. TIP: When working on a new or redesigned site you might want to give each place its own channel for a time until you understand the user behavior.

Another trick that can increase your CTR is the mixture of AdSense on your body copy. For example, if your body copy is black, remove the border from AdSense and make the title text and URL black.TIP: Try to change all the page links to high-contrast color (like dark red or bold blue) then change the title of AdSense for the same color.

The only area I found mixing ads do not perform well is forums, especially those with a high volume of repeat members. Regular visitors develop banner blindness very rapidly. One trick to keep ads from being ignored is a random color and even the placement. As with any decision on the location, placement and color is a trade-off. How much emphasis on the ads without annoying your visitors. Remember that it is better to have a 1% CTR with 500 regular visitors compared with a CTR of 5% to 50 visitors. TIP: For forums try placing the AdSense ads directly above or below the discussion forum first.

Using pictures

One of the latest “secrets” to make the rounds is using images placed directly above or below a header AdSense. This has been used for a while, but it was a digital point forum thread where a member talked about quadrupling their CTR. Basically, it created the AdSense code in a table with four images that line up directly with it. If this is distorted and misleading is very subjective. Obviously four blinking arrows would be “attractive to people and click against the AdSense TOS. However placing pictures of 4 laptops, notebooks ads is not, so use your best judgment here and look from the perspective of advertiser or Google. If you have a question regarding your application is “online” to write to AdSense and ask him to take a look.

The use of images, I did and I can say that definitely works. You get the best results when images of “complete the story of the ads are saying. For example, if you have ads apple pies, use pictures of freshly baked apple pies, instead of Granny Smith, Macintosh, Pink Lady and Braeburn apples. TIP: Do not limit yourself to only use images the size of ad unit, which works so well with the other dimensions of the rectangle 336.

Added:
I have some criticizm for it and rightly so, as I was not specific as it could have been. Do not use very identifiable brand or product to your images. Using specific generic images, where possible and appropriate.

Multiple ad units

Another way to increase advertising revenue is to use multiple ad. According to Google’s terms of service, is allowed to place up to three ad units per page. Similar to the search for higher performance standard ad unit, the payment is served first and the lowest is served last. If there is enough ad inventory, place all three ad units. However, you should pay attention to payments. Assumption is that you get 60% of revenue ($ 0.05 a click you make $ 0.03). So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 and 5 cents you may want to omit from your page. This is one where units are giving your channel list worthless. If an ad is to get a higher percentage of click throughs you want to ensure that the best performing ads are being treated there. TIP: Use CSS positioning to get your highest paying ads service in place with higher CTR.

Adsense in RSS

With the growth of blogs and RSS feeds that are starting to see the AdSense channels as now. My humble opinion, this does not work, and here’s why:

* You just place an ad.
* You do not have control over finding the optimal point for the ad.
* The ads are usually poorly targeted (this is getting better).
* People develop ‘banner blindness “.

I know people want to be able to read entire messages your feed reader, and at least a dozen places full of reasons to please their users offline for mobile computing, which are totally valid. However, if your website depends on generating adsense revenue to survive, and then take them to the site and show ads there.

Affiliate Sites

Placing Adsense on affiliate sites is difficult. You’re giving $ 10, $ 20 or $ 30 for the sale of $ 1 a click? This is something that has to prove on their own to find out. If they are now becoming worth a try. I like to use AdSense on pages of my article. For example, say you had an affiliate site that sells the shoes. You need some articles related to “meat” site. Things like “getting a shoeshine” or “find a shoe” These are excellent sites for AdSense. While not become rich, they usually provide a steady income and cover things like hosting small costs.TIP: If you find pages that receive more than 50 clicks per month add more pages on this subject, and link pages. Mine the records of the search terms used.

Arbitration PPC

This is risky business, so I will move away from specific examples. Basically, you buy at the low volume niche Uber very low cost. You set up landing page that contains the highest paying ads on the topic in general. Looking for a deal with one big difference between the price that is offered in AdWords and the price they are getting on Adsense. If you pay $ 0.10 a click and get $ 1.00 for every click $ 0.90 per click. To get your approved AdSense ad, you need to “add value” along the road. You can make a killing or were carried to the cleaning of this, to make sure you know what you’re doing before attempting it.
