When you set up a new blog using WordPress you probably do not think you will get a lot of traffic, especially at first. However, of course it is a goal for any site to continually gain popularity and thus obtain more traffic. But, what happens when your site gets a lot of attention and suddenly becomes a high traffic site? Will using WordPress hinder the availability of posts on the site? Will it be able to handle the sheer volume of traffic that may occur once your site becomes extremely popular?

WordPress is designed to handle high traffic. However, as with any site and any software program it is important to optimize your site for maximum efficiency. The more people you have browsing your site, the more you want your site to load quickly so you can expose your posts the most possible viewers.
